Their vision of the success of these spaces is straightforward: “Hi-fi bars are replacing the nightclub experience, which has become too stressful for people looking for a pleasant atmosphere, quality drinks, and good conversation,” says the team at Oblicuo HI-FI.

OBLICUOHIFI presents SONIDOS OBLICUOS: two of its many musical souls, Uruguayan DJ Fatal and Japanese DJ Hanakito, both resident selectors, deliver an all-vinyl listening experience that blends instability and movement into a transversal and eclectic trajectory. A sonic journey that invites listeners to shift perspective, opening up new visions and connections.

OBLICUO SUNDAY SOCIAL #2

OBLICUO SUNDAY SOCIAL #2 was the second event organised by OBLICUO HI-FI outside of its HI-FI bar. This time, OBLICUOHIFI partnered with indie label Modern Obscure Music (MOM), exploring the boundaries between different disciplines based on deep listening and music research. An incredible venue in Sarrià played host to 2 simultaneous programmes.

The Auditorium live experience, curated by MOM, showcased 4 concerts: KMRU, ADRIANO GALANTE with WARREN WALKER, PEDRO VIAN and ADRIANNA JORNET – a true exploration of ambient sounds in all its variants. The HI-FI Garden hosted eclectic DJ sets by MELINA SERSER, MARI.TE and MR FORTYFOUR.

The event lasted 7 hours, with quality food and drinks throughout.

OBLICUO SUNDAY SOCIAL #1

For the first time, Oblicuo Hi-Fi Bar stepped beyond its cosy walls to bring something special – OBLICUO SUNDAY SOCIAL.

On Sunday, February 9th, as part of OFF LLUM 2025, Oblicuo Hi-Fi Bar took over FX Barcelona Film School in Poblenou for 8 hours of non-stop music – from ambient to avant-garde electronica and house – paired with cinematic oblique visuals.

The Chroma Key Room was reimagined with pristine high-fidelity sound by @soundcheck, creating an atmosphere built for deep listening and discovery. Guests stepped outside and unwound in a raw, Berlinesque open-air space.

Its owner, Ivanmaria Vele, believes there is a wave of young people who are starting to get tired of Spotify, and for that reason, he has focused his efforts not only on creating a high-end analog sound venue that will make the most discerning palates drool, but also on weaving a network of connections around vinyl throughout the city.

Today, music and spaces are increasingly interconnected. There is a renewed interest in the quality of music listening within specially designed environments, involving designers, architects, sound engineers, and managers of venues and various types of spaces. But all of this has a rather distant origin, both in time and geographically.

Kulture Space, 15 September 2025

Electronic music connoisseurs in Barcelona are well acquainted with one of the city’s most stimulating offerings: Oblicuo Hi-Fi Bar. A space that prioritises sound quality, inspired by the Japanese Jazz Kissa, venues that emerged in the 1930s where whisky, vinyl, and high-end audio systems were combined. The creators of this concept are once again presenting an inspiring formula, OBLICUO SUNDAY SOCIAL, which already amazed us in its first edition at the FX Barcelona Film School.

BeatBurguer, 13 September 2025
